Andersen Farms grows vegetables, flowers, pumpkins, grains and hay around Sparta, taps its own maple trees for syrup, and in 2021 planted a 7,000-tree apple orchard on White Lake Road. The orchard grows more than 12 varieties on dwarf trees, including Honeycrisp, EverCrisp, CrimsonCrisp, Ludacrisp, Rosalee, Pink Lady and Pixie Crunch. The flagship store on Layton Lane is open all year with farm produce, eggs, meats, baked goods, weekly prepared dinners, a coffee bar and an ice cream shop that has made more than 250 flavors from scratch since 2020, including vegan, gluten-free and sugar-free ones.
