Sam Bonacorsi grew up on his family's vegetable and strawberry farm in Oswego County, New York, started by his Sicilian grandparents in the 1920s. He and his family bought their 15-acre Croton Road farm in 2008 and added a 42-acre farm 3.5 miles away in 2015 so they could rotate crops. Everything they sell is grown on their Franklin Township land, mostly older varieties picked for flavor. They follow integrated pest management, use no GMO varieties, and plant cover crops and flowers for pollinators.
