Jason and Deborah DeSalvo bought Cold Brook Farm in northeast Hunterdon County in 2019 and converted a conventional corn and soybean field to certified organic, regenerative farming. On 43 acres around their net-zero-energy farmhouse they grow heirloom grains on about 10.5 acres, keep bees, and tend 2.5 acres of permaculture plantings with berries, fruit and nut trees and vegetables, with the rest in preserved wetland and woods. They also help neighbors convert fields to organic grain.
