Elite Meat is a small family-run butcher shop in Clinton. Paul, the butcher, has more than 43 years in the trade and works with an apprentice, Jay, alongside his wife Catherine and their three children. The shop sells USDA Prime beef, cut by hand, including filet, rib eye, strip, porterhouse, tri-tip, hanger and whole brisket, plus air-chilled, antibiotic-free chicken, heritage pork, American lamb and milk-fed veal. The case also holds sausages (hot, sweet, cheese and parsley, bratwurst, breakfast, chorizo), burgers and kebabs, and an Irish section with rashers, Irish sausages, black and white pudding. The shop says it has been voted Best Butcher in Hunterdon County six years running.
