The Mackey family once owned about 800 acres in White Township; the farm today is 96 acres, with a 45-acre orchard growing more than 100 apple varieties along with peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, apricots, cherries and raspberries. Levi C. Mackey planted the first fruit trees in the early 1900s, and Robert Mackey Jr. and his wife Beatrice opened the apple bakery in the early 1980s, starting with cider donuts and apple pies. Devlen and Holly Mackey bought the farm in 1998, added a scratch pastry bakery in 2016, and run it year round with their children.
