Sugar Maple Jerseys began on June 22, 2013 with a founder's lifelong love of Jersey cows, starting from a first registered calf named Lily whose descendants are still in the herd; her partner Rick, who once farmed Holsteins, joined in 2017. The 180-acre dairy is 100 percent grass-fed and rotationally grazed, and the cows' raw milk becomes aged cheddars (plain, smoked, garlic basil, pepper, garlic dill), gouda and smoked gouda, feta, cheese curds, cream cheese, Greek-style 'Dream Cheese' yogurt and hand-made butter. The farm also raises grass-fed beef, pork, veal and seasonal chicken, and makes its own bone broth and tallow. The Farmer's Table, its country store and ice cream shop, sells only its own meats and dairy plus goods from farmers it knows personally.
