Larry Freeborn started the business with dairy cattle in 1989, moved to Tranquillity Farms in 1998 and built the produce stand in 2000; his four children now work the farm with him. The family farms about 850 acres around Allamuchy State Park, including 140 acres of sweet corn, 170 acres of pumpkins and some 215 acres of vegetables, and supplies about 28 ShopRite stores. The market sells the farm's own naturally raised, hormone and antibiotic-free Angus beef and pork, fed on homegrown feed, along with baked goods and the farm's homemade ice cream.

This season
Fall Fest weekends run through Nov 1, 2026, with pick-your-own pumpkins. A spring freeze cut the apple crop, so picking is limited and may stop early; check the farm's site or social media first. The market and ice cream window stay open all winter, with precut Christmas trees, wreaths, roping, to-go meals and soups, and a Santa craft market weekend.
