Two Teaspoons is a bakery and cake studio at 2 Main Street in Hamburg that specializes in custom wedding and celebration cakes. The cakes are made, in the bakers' own words, with "(lots) of butter, buttermilk and King Arthur flours," so they eat more like a rich pound cake than a light sponge, and the buttercream is an Italian meringue style that is buttery rather than very sweet. The flavor menu runs from chocolate-chocolate and pistachio-honey to olive oil and rosemary cake with fig jam and orange-scented buttercream, and it turns with the seasons: buttermilk-blueberry and peaches and cream in spring and summer, caramel apple, pear-chai and pumpkin-maple in fall and winter. Beyond cakes, the studio makes cookies, pies and other pastries for holidays and pop-up bakery days.

Signature cakes, from about $60 to $65, can be ordered online for pickup; custom cakes start at $200 for a single tier and $350 for tiered, and wedding cakes start at $500, with tasting boxes to take home. Restaurant Latour at Crystal Springs Resort names Two Teaspoons among the local growers and producers it works with.
