LL Pittenger Farm is 200 acres in Green Township, five minutes off exit 19 of Route 80, farmed since 2002 by Lou Tommaso and Lori Pittenger. They raise beef cattle on pasture year-round, certified Berkshire pigs and young Berkshire boar, lambs, chickens and turkeys on pasture in chicken tractors, and red hens for eggs, and they grow hay, non-GMO corn and soybeans, most of the animals' feed. No hormones, antibiotics or steroids are used. The meat is USDA inspected, vacuum-packed and frozen: dry-aged beef cuts, Berkshire pork chops, ribs, bacon and a long list of sausages, lamb chops and racks, whole chickens and holiday turkeys. The farm also sells Valley Shepherd and Jersey Girl cheeses, Nicola Fresca fresh pasta and Italian salame.
