The Ort family has farmed in Long Valley since the mid-1800s, and Jacob W. Ort started the farm on Bartley Road in 1916. It began as a dairy, switched to fresh produce in the early 1970s and added pick-your-own pumpkins in the 1980s; today the family farms about 400 acres. The farm market sells its own vegetables, apples and beef, and the bakery makes cider donuts fresh daily, about 18 kinds of pie, loaf cakes and breads. The farm also makes its own ice cream and runs a 21-week CSA.
